CVS Stirling stands for Council for Voluntary Services for Stirling. 

There are presently 56 CVS operating throughout Scotland.

 

We are based in the city of Stirling, and support voluntary organisations throughout the Stirling Council area.

We provide training, support for groups starting up, fundraising advice, meeting facilities.

We are a company limited by guarantee with charitable status supporting the development of the community and voluntary sector locally.

We are committed to equal opportunities and to making our services relevant and accessible to all local organisations.

CVS Stirling currently employs three members of staff, Marina McGuire - Director, Lee Stevenson – Development Worker and Linda Flockhart – Administrator.  The organisation also relies on volunteers who help progress the aims of the organisation.

As Director, Marina is responsible for the running of the organisation and providing assistance to members.

Mission Statement

Councils for Voluntary Service exist to represent and support the voluntary sector, to assist organisations in coming together for common purposes, and to enable local people to gain access to decision making processes which affect their communities.’

‘Council for Voluntary Service aim to present the common policies and concerns of voluntary organisations, to develop new ways of responding to need in partnership with statutory agencies who are concerned with social and economic regeneration.’

Our Aims

  • to provide up-to-date information on a range of issues relevant to the local voluntary sector

  • to support, advise and develop the voluntary sector within the Stirling Council area

  • to increase membership and representation of the voluntary sector agencies

  • to form effective partnerships and develop purposeful networks with other agencies

 

We want the Voluntary Sector to be a thriving community and we want to connect with the appropriate partners and agencies.
